Welcome
Estes Elementary, within the Marana Unified School District, is a preK-6 school offering the highest quality, inspiring and enriching education in a safe, nurturing, and award-winning learning environment. We are honored to have earned the coveted A+ School of Excellence™ Award from the Arizona Educational Foundation, as well as being named an Arizona Higher Performing School through the National Center for Educational Achievement. Estes was also awarded the prestigious 21st CCLC grant, providing funds toward before and after school enrichment clubs and intervention opportunities and programs for students.
Estes Elementary, home of the Eagles, offers preschool, full day FREE kindergarten, before and after school care, gifted and special education, full-time Master level school counselor, health services, librarian, music, arts, physical education, and more. Currently, the school offers over 20 enrichment clubs and intervention opportunities for students.
In 1955, part of our current school campus, known as Marana Elementary became the first elementary school in the Marana district. In July 2001, a newly constructed Estes Elementary, named after former elementary principal, Marjorie Estes, opened its doors on the grounds adjacent to the old campus. The sprawling campus includes an amphitheater, a multipurpose room/cafeteria, a library media center, two computer labs, three playground locations, a working garden and an athletic field with a running track and fitness stations.
Our school provides a diverse educational experience for the 21st century by incorporating student Chromebooks and collaborative comfortable configurable furniture (fall 2018), into comprehensive, relevant and rigorous instruction. We believe high academic standards are supported through innovative instruction, passionate teaching and swift communication. Students are engaged in their content and collaborate often about their learning.
As a Marzano High Reliability School that has achieved Level 1 certification, creating a Safe, Supportive, and Collaborative culture, we are committed to transforming our school into an organization that takes proactive steps to ensure student success. Level 1 certification is the foundation for every level that follows. Without such a culture, student achievement will be compromised.
Positive home, community, and school partnerships are valued. Throughout the year, community volunteers are in classrooms and families proudly attend events led by our teachers, parents and student clubs.
Our Estes staff is known to inspire the hearts and minds of students. We are proud of the engaging educational opportunities we provide, motivating our students to learn today and lead tomorrow.
