MUSD Enhances School Travel Experience with Four New Charter Buses!

MUSD has expanded its transportation fleet with the addition of four new charter buses, providing students and student athletes with safe, climate-controlled, and convenient travel for far-away athletic competitions, field trips, and other school-sponsored activities.
Each bus was purchased using voter-approved bond funds and cost approximately $220,000, reflecting our commitment to maintaining high-quality transportation for students while responsibly utilizing bond dollars to provide efficient and comfortable school experiences. While maintaining the safety standards expected of school transportation, the vehicles include features commonly found on charter buses.
The new buses are equipped with:
- 46-passenger seating capacity, two-person bucket seats with seat belts
- 360,000 BTU rooftop air conditioning system
- Interior luggage trays above passenger seating
- Six exterior under-storage compartments
- Four-wheel ABS braking system with traction control
By investing in our own trip transportation fleet, we can reduce our reliance on charter bus services. This provides greater scheduling flexibility and helps the district manage transportation costs more effectively.
