Plan Ahead for Student Walkers/ Bikers: Important Pathway Closures

Parents and families are encouraged to plan ahead for upcoming pathway closures that may affect students who walk or bike to and from school.

A local company will be applying asphalt sealant to walkways throughout Phase II of the Gladden Farms community beginning September 1. During the project, pathways will be closed in phases to allow the sealant to be applied and properly cure.

Scheduled Work Dates

Pathway closures are currently scheduled for:

• September 5
• September 9
• September 10
• September 11
• September 12
• September 15
• September 17

Please be aware that the schedule may change. Crews may complete more work than anticipated on a given day, or additional time may be needed. If work requires additional time, barricades may remain in place longer than originally scheduled.

Avoid Closed Paths with Fresh Sealant

Residents, students, and pets should avoid using closed pathways until all barriers and signage have been removed. Entering these areas too soon can damage the new sealant and may cause material to be tracked onto shoes, carpets, sidewalks, and other surfaces.

For families with students who walk or bike to school, please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use only open pathways during the project.
